The Hookpad Sound Caption Contest, our competition series featuring music written by you in Hookpad, is back!
The contest is simple… We post a picture. You create a short musical phrase in Hookpad. We listen to each other’s work, upvote our favorites, and have fun! Think cartoon caption contest, songwriting style.
Entries will be featured across all of our social media pages as part of our #madeinhookpad series.
The rules:
Use inspiration from the visual above to generate a short musical phrase in Hookpad.
This time around, everyone will start from the same band template. To begin, go to:

We’ve loaded up an 8-measure blank track with preset instruments in an electro-pop vibe.
You are free to use any features included in Hookpad — your only guideline is that the musical phrase must be 8 bars maximum and loopable. You are welcome to change up the lead instruments, but keep the harmony, bass, and drums unchanged.
To enter, be sure to save your entry (File > Save) and export as a shareable URL (File > Create a shareable URL).
Head over to our Facebook page and post your link on our dedicated contest thread (it will be pinned to the top of our feed).
